What are Notes in Perfumes
Notes in perfumes are the different variety of scents that can be sensed upon its application. There are essentially 3 notes in a perfume—: Head/ Top Heart Base These are classifed on the basis of fragrance that can be smelled with respect to time of application of perfume. These are grouped as per volatility or evaporation coefficent of the chemicals. A Head note is the fragrance that you perceive immediately after application of perfume. They for first impression of the fragrance for a user. They are usually strong, fresh and assertive very volatile in nature. Citrus is a commonly used Head Note. A Heart note is the fragrance that gets active just before the total dissipation of Head note. They are mellow and less volatile as compared to Head Notes.
